INSURGENCY: President Muhammadu Buhari Condoles Nigerians Over Fallen Airmen

The president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of five Airmen, who died while providing air support to the officers and men of 145 battalion, Damasak, Maidugiri during a counter insurgency operations in Northeast Nigeria.
The president made this known in his Twitter handle Thursday.
Buhari said, "I mourn our Armed Forces personnel who lost their lives in a military helicopter crash in Damasak, Borno State, yesterday:
"Our heartfelt condolences to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, the Nigerian Air Force, and the families of the dead.
"These fine officers and men lost their lives striving to guarantee our safety and protection as a people and a nation.

The Nigerian air Force had earlier announced a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Helicopter was lost in combat while providing close air support to troops of 145 Battalion at Damasak in Northern Borno State.
"The mission was part of the ongoing counterinsurgency operations in the North East."
