ASUP To Begin Two Weeks Warning Strike Monday

Daily Rendezvous The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has declared a two weeks nationwide warning strike directing its members to down tools in order to persuade the Buhari led government to implement the Memorandum of Understanding it reached with the union. The Union in a statement signed by the natiknal chairman, Anderson Ezeibe, the Federal government is yet to fulfil its side of the promise after the union after it gave the FG One Month notice to fulfil its promise. The Union had ealier said that the FG has failed to release N15 billion revitalization funds it promised the union or it will be faced with strike action by the union. Ezeibe said, its staff are also owed minimum wages backlog dating back to 31st December, 2019. Daily Rendezvous The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, (ASUP) has issued a one month warning to the president Muhammadu Buhari led APC government to urgently keep its promise of releasing N15 billion revitalization funds it promised the union or it will be faced with strike action by the union. The union said, its staff are also owed minimum wages backlog dating back to 31st December, 2019. The national president of the Union, Anderson Ezeibe made this known at a press briefing at the end of its 102nd NEC meeting held at the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Thursday, in Adamawa state. While condemning the actions of the federal government, the union said, it is not in the character of the union to embark on frivolous strike action but it is hesitate to embark on a strike and stay as long as it takes until the federal government responds to its demand.
