Daily Rendezvous PENGASSAN  begins strike Monday 9th Nov. 2020 after negotiations with FG collapsed. The national Chairnan of PENGASSAN, Festus Osifo, said the new payment fails to capture the peculiarities of the working staff in the industry and that the new payment scheme shortchanges staff in the industry by about 30%. Osifo said, "We are not oppoosed to any new form of payment introduced by the government provided it captures the peculiarities of this industry and cuts off certain benefits acruable to our members. "We expected the governmnent to create job opportunities for our youth and not creating a scheme that throws youth to the streets.
