Daily Rendezvous The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, (ASUP) has issued a one month warning to the president Muhammadu Buhari led APC government to urgently keep its promise of releasing N15 billion revitalization funds it promised the union or it will be faced with strike action by the union. The union said, its staff are also owed minimum wages backlog dating back to 31st December, 2019. The national president of the Union, Anderson Ezeibe made this known at a press briefing at the end of its 102nd NEC meeting held at the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Thursday, in Adamawa state. While condemning the actions of the federal government, the union said, it is not in the character of the union to embark on frivolous strike action but it is hesitate to embark on a strike and stay as long as it takes until the federal government responds to its demand. They made this known Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, at their forum’s meeting on the state of the nation. The party’s National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu expressed optimism that the PDP would return to power in 2023, given the unthusiasm of Nigerians towards the party. Sowore claimed that Tinubu fled to London after he noticed that his presidential ambition was dead on arrival. Daily Rendezvous There is suspense in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) ahead of the service exit date of the Inspector-General,Abubakar Adamu Mohammed. The suspense is hinged on the fact that it is not clear whether Adamu’s tenure will be extended by President Muhammadu Buhari, while some power brokers are reported to be lobbying for the extension of the IGP’s tenure till November 9 when he will be 60 years old. By service records, the IGP, who enlisted on February 1, 1986 will attain the mandatory 35 years service scheduled for retirement on Monday. As at Saturday, the IGP was not sure of his fate and has been commissioning some projects in order not to be caught off guard. Security: Again, Boko Haram Kill 110 Farmers in Koshobe, Borno-UN

Daily Rendezvous The United Nations has condemned in totality, the killing of about 110 farmers in Koshobe, in Jere Local government of Borno State, North East Nigeria. United nations states that, about 110 farmers who were harvesting their crops were ruthlessly murdered by non state armed groups and that several women might have been kidnapped. This is contained in press statement issued by the UN humanitarian coordinator, Edward Kallon and made available to Daily Rendezvous, Sunday.
