Legal Firm Tells INEC to Investigate Alleged Plot to Smuggle Boya's Form EC9 into INEC'S Portal 11 Days After Official Deadline

Daily Rendezvous An Abuja-based law firm has rasied the alarm over an ongoing underhand plot by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Wakili Boya, in connivance with some INEC staff, to smuggle the name of Wakili Boya into INEC's website eleven days after the official June 17th, 2022 dateline. The solicitors acting on behalf of their client, Samaila Ardo Mallum, submitted that the APC candidate, Wakili Boya, has failed to submit his details or upload his form EC9 on the 17th of June, 2022 as required by the electoral umpire. This is contained in an official complain letter submitted to INEC office, by the law firm in Yola, Adamawa State. Daily Rendezvous Adamawa 2023: Court summons PDP, INEC over disqualification of governorship aspirant The judge said it was in the interest of justice for all the parties connected to the PDP governorship race in Adamawa State to appear and respond to the issues in the matter. The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Wednesday, summoned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to appear over the purported disqualification of Abubakar Waziri from the Adamawa governorship primary. Mr Waziri, through his lawyer, Louis Alozie, sued the PDP and INEC over his disqualification by the screening committee of the party in preparation for the Adamawa State governorship race in 2023. Mr Alozie, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), informed the court that the purported disqualification of Mr Waziri was done in breach of the Electoral Act 2022 and the PDP guidelines. INEC Announces New Dates for Presidential, Governorship Elections

Daily Rendezvous The Independent Nationnal Electoral Commission (INEC) says Nigeria's  presidential election will hold on February 25, 2023. The INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, made this known Saturday, at a media briefing in Abuja. Yakubu further said that the national assembly elections will hold on the same day, while governorship and state house of assembly polls will take place on March 11, 2023. This announcement comes hours after President Muhammadu Buhari signed the National Electoral Act Bill into law. Yakubu said the 2023 polls were initially scheduled to commence on February 18, 2023 with the presidential and national assembly elections, followed by the governorship and state house of assembly elections on March 4. 2023: INEC Release Time, Guidelines for Presidential and Gubernatorial Elections

Daily Rendezvous The National Independent Electoral Commission, INEC , has released the calendar and political campaign itinerary for the 2023 elections in Nigeria. The calendar consists of electioneering activities partaining the 2023 presidential and gubernatorial elections in the country. The calendar released by the INEC, scheduled that electioneering activities will commence from March 2022 providing a template for all political parties in the country heading into the 2023 General elections.. The calendar outlined that by April 2022, campaign for presidential and gubernatorial elections will kick off and as at May 2022, there will be party Congresses across Nigeria.
