Fuel Prices Skyrockets As Tinubu Aborts Subsidy
Daily Rendezvous The newly sworn-in APC government hac thrown Nigerians into yet another misery and confusion, as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led government, says it has removed the payment of subsidy on fuel. The instant effect of such wreckless pronouncement is the instant closure of filling stations,the instant re-emergemce of fuel queues, the announcement of new pump price of petroleum from an average of about N220 per litre to about N550 per litre and the zapping of little earned incomes of Nigerians from their pockets. Just like President Buhari, when he instantly closed borders, and banned the importation of rice and other essential goods, under the guise that it would boost local production and consequently drive prices down, but after 8 eight years, it was clear that the policy had no purpose, strategy for implementation, or economic goals.
