Gov. Fintiri Commissions IOM Housing Support Project For Over 1082 IDPs

Daily Rendezvous  Nyahama Japhet No fewer than 1,082 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from 182 households have benefited from 215 constructed mudbrick  houses by International Organization of Migration (IOM). Also known as Malkohi New City, the 215 housing project meant for the IDPs is sited at Malkohi layout Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State. In his speech the Country Representative of IOM Laurent De Boeck maintained that the project is the modest contribution of the IOM to support displaced and vulnerable people affected by insurgency to resume their lives and livelihood without depending on aid. He revealed that the IOM in 2021 started implementing a project known as "sustainable integration of internally displaced populations in the northeast Nigeria" using an innovative post emergency approach to humanitarian assistance. EU Donates EUR 4.2 million to WFP Operations to Rescue Over 1.1 million Food insecure Persons in Cameroon, Adamawa

Daily Rendezvous  European Union has boost World Food Programme (WFP) operations in Southwest and Northwest Cameroon donating EUR 4.2 million as intervention for about 1.1 million insecure persons. SECURITY: Kukah Center Presents Start-up Packs to 100 Community Members

Daily Rendezvous The Kukah center has presented various startup materials and facilities to over 100 carefully selected and trained persons drawn from communities susceptible to violence and extremism in Adamawa state. The participants at the event were trained in fisheries, bakery, cosmetology, poultry, among other fields, as a means of dealing with poverty and empowering locals to build up resilience following the debilitating impact of violence and extremism on their lives and communities. This was made known by the Executive Director of the center, Fr. Attah Barkindo, at the official presentation of the startup kits in Yola, Adamawa state. News Rendezvous Nigeria's Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, the Most Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, said that he would continue to pray that one day Muslims would build a church for Christians. Bishop Kukah made this remarks at the commissioning of 86 housing units with a church and mosque built at the Sangere-Marghi village of Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The 86 housing units was built by the Catholic Bishop of Yola diocese, Bishop Dami Mamza specifically for the Internally Displaced Persons that the church has housed since boko haram overran about seven local governments in the northern part of Adamawa state in 2014.
