Daily Rendezvous  It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the immediate family of Chief Timawus Mathias, who died today after a protracted illness.  Uncle Tim's death is a personal loss and a big one for Adamawa state and Nigeria. My condolences once more to his immediate family, the Bachama Traditional Council and the good people of Adamawa state.  May God repose his soul and give all of us the fortitude to bear this huge loss. Ameen.

Aliyu Ismaila Condoles Chief Timawus Mathias' Family

Daily Rendezvous  Veteran civil servant and elderstatesman, Aliyu Ismaila, has described the passind on if Chief Timawus Mathias as shocking and painful, saying the Veteran briadcaster is a man of peace and a pillar of the Nigerian community. Ismaila made the remarks in a press statement made available to this medium over the weekend. Aliyu Ismaila said, "I just received the sad news of the passing away of our big brother and man of peace, Timawus Mathias, which sad event ocurred this afternoon.  "May God the almighty grant the family and friends the fortitude to bear this great loss Ameen. "This is Indeed a very heavy message to convey."

Daily Rendezvous  Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has commiserated with the family of veteran journalist, Chief Timawus Mathias, who passed on Friday at 73. In a condolence message by his spokesman, Mr. Humwashi Wunosoikou, on Friday in Yola, the Governor condoled with the entire Bachama chief dom and his immediate family over the sad loss. Fintiri noted the commendable contributions of the respected journalist to the development of Nigeria. He particularly lauded him for his role in stimulating robust debates with insightful articles while working variously as a broadcaster. Fintiri prayed that the almighty God would receive the soul of the departed and comfort his family.

His diligence and skills earned him the recognition of the NTA Yola station named after him.
