It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the immediate family of Chief Timawus Mathias, who died today after a protracted illness. 

Uncle Tim's death is a personal loss and a big one for Adamawa state and Nigeria.

My condolences once more to his immediate family, the Bachama Traditional Council and the good people of Adamawa state. 

May God repose his soul and give all of us the fortitude to bear this huge loss. Ameen.

Daily Rendezvous,  Yola, Nigeria The Adamawa State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has expressed satisfaction with the turnout and orderly conduct of intending pilgrims during the ongoing screening exercise for the 2025 Easter pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan. Speaking at the board’s headquarters in Yola during the exercise on Friday, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Chief Geoffrey Garba, described the process as smooth and commendable. He praised intending pilgrims for adhering to guidelines, especially by avoiding the inclusion of overage or medically unfit persons in their applications.
