It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the immediate family of Chief Timawus Mathias, who died today after a protracted illness. 

Uncle Tim's death is a personal loss and a big one for Adamawa state and Nigeria.

My condolences once more to his immediate family, the Bachama Traditional Council and the good people of Adamawa state. 

May God repose his soul and give all of us the fortitude to bear this huge loss. Ameen.

Adamawa State Tertiary Institutions Shutdown Over Minimum Wage Snub

YOLA – Academic and non-academic staff of Adamawa State-owned tertiary institutions have shutdown all tertiary institutions in the state as a result of failure by the Fintiri-led government to include tertiary institutions in the state in its minimum wage implementation plan. The instructions decided to embarked on an indefinite strike following the government’s failure to address their demand for new minimum wage implementation after its seven-day warning strike elapsed, Monday, 10th March, 2025 as the state government keeps mum. The decision was announced in a statement released by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of academic and non-academic staff unions, signed by the committee’s chairperson , Comrade Maryam Abdullahi. Customs Intercepts N67.8 Million Worth of Smuggled Goods, Rescues Endangered Parrots in Adamawa

Daily Rendezvous  In a major breakthrough against illegal cross-border activities, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Adamawa/Taraba Area Command has intercepted contraband goods valued at over N67.78 million and rescued more than a hundred endangered wild African grey parrots. The announcement was made during a press briefing held at the Customs House in Yola, where the Area Controller detailed the remarkable achievements of the Command’s operatives in their latest anti-smuggling operations conducted over the past three weeks. What Was Seized? The Command recorded 19 separate interceptions across multiple smuggling routes including Mubi-Sahua, Goshindan-Farang/Belel, Girei-Woro Bokki, Fufore-Gurin, Gella, Damere Waterside, and Numan axis.
