ISWAP claims responsibility for Kuje prison attack

Daily Rendezvous  The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja. Terrorists broke into the prison, on Tuesday night, and released over 800 inmates, including high-profile suspects. In a footage on Wednesday night, the terrorist sect showed some of its men shooting their way into the facility. Tens of fighters were seen marching in groups while vehicles and building were on fire in the 38 seconds video. An elderly man dressed in a native attire also joined the young men who were shouting on top of their voices. Bandits Gun Down Kaduna House of Assembly member

Daily Rendezvous A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Giwa West Constituency, Rilwanu Gagadau, has been killed by bandits. Rilwanu was the chairman of the House Committee on Local Government. He was among those recently attacked by the bandits along Zaria-Kaduna Highway, leading to his death. The Kaduna State House of Assembly confirmed the incident through the house clerk. Also confirming the incident, the Speaker of the Assembly, Yusuf Zailani, described the lawmaker’s death as tragic. In a statement on Wednesday, he revealed that Gadagau died during the attack by bandits along the highway and his body was recovered two days later. “This is tragic and painful. Daily Rendezvous The lawmaker representing Gombi Constituency in the Adamawa state house of  assembly, Japhet Kefas, has called for immediate military intervention in Garkida to forestll a possible second attack by the Boko haram insurgents on Garkida. Kefas said local sightngs suggests that some Boko Haram fighters have been spotted in 9 trucks around kalamba, in the outskirts of Garkda, Saturday evening. He explained that the sightings has triggered panic and unrest in the community adding that movements was similar to the kind which the insurgents made in the attack on Garkida on the eve of Christmas. Daily Rendezvous Reports just reaching us suggests that some members of the Boko Haram insurgents have once again attacked Adamawa Community of Garkida, shooting randomly as residents scamper into nearby bushes for safety. A local from Garkida told News Rendezvous that the insurgents stormed the community around 5 pm Thursday evening, shooting randomly. The local contact said, "Right now, I cannot say how the village is because we are all hiding in the bush. Details emerging from the Christmas Eve attack suggests that the insurgents stormed the town in the evening around 5 pm driving in twelve trucks and have currently setting so many of the houses on fire, locals told Rendezvous. Daily Rendezvous The United Nations has condemned in totality, the killing of about 110 farmers in Koshobe, in Jere Local government of Borno State, North East Nigeria. United nations states that, about 110 farmers who were harvesting their crops were ruthlessly murdered by non state armed groups and that several women might have been kidnapped. This is contained in press statement issued by the UN humanitarian coordinator, Edward Kallon and made available to Daily Rendezvous, Sunday.
