Terrorist Invade Niger Police Station, Kill DPO, 2 Other Police Officers

Daily Rendezvous Gunmen suspected to be bandit-terrorists have surrounded Nasko Divisional Police Office and killed the DPO in Niger State. The DPO, one Umar Mohammed Digari, was killed on Tuesday, alongside two other policemen. Dakingari, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, was the DPO of Nasko Division of the State Police Command, before his death. SCANDALOUS: Green Chamber to investigate 178,459 Missing Police Arms

Daily Rendezvous House of Representatives has commenced investigations into alleged disappearance of about 178,459 arms and ammunition, belonging to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). It also called on Inspector General of Police (IGP) to urgently apprehend those culpable for depletion of the Force’s armoury. The resolutions followed adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Deputy Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu. Disappearance of the arms and ammunition was contained in the 2019 report of the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation. According to the lawmaker, the audit of Arms Movement Register, Monthly Returns of Arms and Ammunition, and Ammunition Register at the Armoury Section of Police revealed that lost firearms, as at December 2018, was 178,459 pieces. Daily Rendezvous  The Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has proscribed the activities of Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria, banning their activities in the 21 local governments of Adamawa state over security concerns the group is reported to have been causing. Fintiri said, the Hunters Association has been working contrary to the essence of its creation, as the group is reported to have been showing total disregard for security agencies and for traditional authorities in their localities. Daily Rendezvous Armed policemen were seen on Wednesday, to have taken over the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress national Secretariat in Abuja. Armed policemen on Wednesday took over the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja. Four (4) patrol vans were positioned at entry and exit points of the building located at Blantyre Street in the Wuse 11 area of the Federal Capital Territory. The Rendezvous gathered that the police was drafted to the APC headquarters to forestall possible breakdown of law and order. There were reports that aggrieved party members planned to stage a protest against the party’s leadership over the recently conducted ward, local government and state congresses.

Daily Rendezvous President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment of DIG Usman Alkali Baba as acting Inspector General of Police, with immediate effect. The Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi made the announcement Tuesday, in Abuja. Buhari had on February 4th extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for three months. Adamu has spent two months and three days.  The minister recalled that Adamu’s tenure was extended because it was necessary to give room for the proper selection of a successor.

Police Nabs 3-Man Extortion Gang in Adamawa

Daily Rendezvous The Adamawa state police command has arrested a three-man extortion syndicate in Adamawa notorious for threatening and duping residents of Adamawa state. The three man suspects, Suleiman Adamu, a 34years a resident of Alkali Street, Demsawo, Abdullahi Ayuba, a 36 year old resident of Ghana Crescent, Bekaji and one Zainab Ahondu, a 50 year old woman from, Jalingo,Taraba State, were nabbed at their respective hideouts at Viniklang and Doubeli, after a tip off to police detectives at the State Intelligence Bureau leading to a thorough search and subsequent arrest of the gang. Daily Rendezvous Seven policemen and three soldiers killed as Boko haram terrorists attack Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum’s convoy Eight policemen, three soldiers, and four Civilian Joint Task Force operatives were killed after the convoy of the Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, was again attacked by Boko Haram terrorists along the Baga Highway in the state on Friday, September 25. According to reports, the governor had left Maiduguri for Baga to prepare for the planned return of internally displaced persons from Maiduguri to the camps in Baga when his convoy was attacked by the terrorists. The attack comes barely two months after Governor Zulum was attacked around the same axis by the insurgents on his way from Baga.
