Adamawa LG POLLS: Police Arrests a Criminal Syndicate of 3 for Kidnappings

The Adamawa state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, has assured residents of Adamawa state that the police is committed to a sustained efforts in fighting crimes, improving public safety and security across the state in preparation for the state-wide local government elections. 

The command said it has apprehended three persons in possession of four AK-47 riffles,164 rounds of ammunitions, a Toyota vehicles, specialised in kidnappings, within Yola North, Yola South, Song, Fufore and Girei local governments of Adamawa state.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje and made available to Newsmen over the weekend in Yola, Adamawa state.

The statement reads in part, "The police command attached to Karewa Area Command, has 8th of April, 2022 dislodged a criminal network and apprehended one 30-year old Muhammad Isa, a resident of Maigero, Song local government, a member of a syndicate of three and recovered four (4) AK-47 rifles, a Corolla LE vehicle with Reg. No. FST 749 DC,164 rounds of live Ammunitions, who specialised in kidnapping activities within Yola North,Yola south, Girei, Fufore and Song local government areas of Adamawa state."

Barde who commended the Area Commander Karewa and his operatives for dislodging and reclaiming the public space, and urged all the Divisional police officers (Dpos) and their supervisory Area commanders to intensity efforts in dislodging the crime network and denying the criminals opportunity to regroup anywhere in the state.

The Adamawa state police also assured the public that the person apprehended and his collaborators will be prosecuted while calling on officers to sustain collaboration with members of the public.
