ISWAP claims responsibility for Kuje prison attack

Daily Rendezvous  The Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) has claimed responsibility for the attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja. Terrorists broke into the prison, on Tuesday night, and released over 800 inmates, including high-profile suspects. In a footage on Wednesday night, the terrorist sect showed some of its men shooting their way into the facility. Tens of fighters were seen marching in groups while vehicles and building were on fire in the 38 seconds video. An elderly man dressed in a native attire also joined the young men who were shouting on top of their voices. Army Neutralizes 37 Terrorists In Northeast

Daily Rendezvous A total of thirty-seven (37) terrorist elements in the northeast, with seventeen (17) said to have been arrested. Twenty-One (21) assorted arms as well as one hundred and seventeen rounds of different calibres of ammunition, and four gun trucks were captured from the terrorists. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko disclosed this during the bi-weekly press briefing on the operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria within the last two weeks, held at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. Bandits Gun Down Kaduna House of Assembly member

Daily Rendezvous A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Giwa West Constituency, Rilwanu Gagadau, has been killed by bandits. Rilwanu was the chairman of the House Committee on Local Government. He was among those recently attacked by the bandits along Zaria-Kaduna Highway, leading to his death. The Kaduna State House of Assembly confirmed the incident through the house clerk. Also confirming the incident, the Speaker of the Assembly, Yusuf Zailani, described the lawmaker’s death as tragic. In a statement on Wednesday, he revealed that Gadagau died during the attack by bandits along the highway and his body was recovered two days later. “This is tragic and painful.
