Breaking: Gunmen Ambush President Buhari's Convoy on a Sallah Trip to Daura

Daily Rendezvous  The Presidency has described as sad and unwelcome, the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah.  The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.  Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered. ASUP To Begin Two Weeks Warning Strike Monday

Daily Rendezvous The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has declared a two weeks nationwide warning strike directing its members to down tools in order to persuade the Buhari led government to implement the Memorandum of Understanding it reached with the union. The Union in a statement signed by the natiknal chairman, Anderson Ezeibe, the Federal government is yet to fulfil its side of the promise after the union after it gave the FG One Month notice to fulfil its promise. The Union had ealier said that the FG has failed to release N15 billion revitalization funds it promised the union or it will be faced with strike action by the union. Ezeibe said, its staff are also owed minimum wages backlog dating back to 31st December, 2019. As a result, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, said his office through the Nigerian Communications Commission, has conveyed the approval to the relevant security agencies. Pantami declined to name the specific agencies granted the "unfettered access" to Nigerians personal data. He, however, said the development would enhance security as it would help security operatives to go after kidnappers and other criminals. Pantami disclosed this while speaking to the media on the sidelines of LEAP 22, a technology event,  holding in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Gen. Buhari Unveils Mega Rice Pyramid As Nigerians Question N1 Trillion Spent on Project

Daily Rendezvous President Muhammadu Buhari has launched a mega rice project of about 15 pyramids porported to hold over a million bags of rice. Despite the widely celebrated success of the project, Nigerians have taken to the social media to criticize the project as fake saying most farmers in Nigeria did not receive the much needed support for rice farming as they werw busy grappling with killer bandits, Boko Haram insurgents and herdsmen attacks. Nigerians also questioned as  spurious and incredulous, the amount of N1 trillion said to have been disbursed to farmers in Nigeria. Daily Rendezvous President Muhammad Buhari has declined assent to the much awaited Electoral Act Bill citing cost, violation of the political parties rights to choose their mode of primaries,  among other reasons, as the basis for refusing accent to the bill. In declining assent to the bill, Buhari has just floated a confusing narrative from his 2019 position when he claimed there was not enough time to consider the bill. In a letter to the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, the president said that prevailing situation in the country would not allow him to sign the bill. Sarah Hart, who is Twitter' s Senior Policy, Communications Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said in a statement that they are looking deep into the matter. "The announcement made by the Nigerian Government that they have suspended Twitter' s operations in Nigeria is deeply concerning," she said.  Adding, "We' re investigating and will provide updates when we know more.
