Army Neutralizes 37 Terrorists In Northeast

Daily Rendezvous A total of thirty-seven (37) terrorist elements in the northeast, with seventeen (17) said to have been arrested. Twenty-One (21) assorted arms as well as one hundred and seventeen rounds of different calibres of ammunition, and four gun trucks were captured from the terrorists. The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko disclosed this during the bi-weekly press briefing on the operational activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria within the last two weeks, held at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja. Gov. Fintiri Proscribes Professional Hunters Association Over Security Concerns

Daily Rendezvous  The Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has proscribed the activities of Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria, banning their activities in the 21 local governments of Adamawa state over security concerns the group is reported to have been causing. Fintiri said, the Hunters Association has been working contrary to the essence of its creation, as the group is reported to have been showing total disregard for security agencies and for traditional authorities in their localities. This is contained in a press statement issued by the press secretary to the Adamawa state governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, and made available to Newsmen, Monday in Yola, Adamawa state. Daily Rendezvous Adamawa State Governor, Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed his condolences to the families and Colleagues of Brigadier General Dzarma Zirkusu and three other Soldiers killed in battle against Insurgents.  General Zirkusu was the Officer commanding the 28 Task Force Brigade in Chibok, Borno State.  The Insurgents had launched an attack on an Army Base  in Askira Uba Local Government area of Southern Borno killing the General and three others. Daily Rendezvous A combined forces of both army, police and vigilante groups under the operation Hadin Kai, have on Teusday, killed about 9 Boko Haram terrorist members, injured several of its fighters, and recovered a Buffalo Gun Truck, 3 motorcycles, 3 browning machine guns, among several other items as the terrorist escaped in disarray. Daily Rendezvous Seven policemen and three soldiers killed as Boko haram terrorists attack Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum’s convoy Eight policemen, three soldiers, and four Civilian Joint Task Force operatives were killed after the convoy of the Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, was again attacked by Boko Haram terrorists along the Baga Highway in the state on Friday, September 25. According to reports, the governor had left Maiduguri for Baga to prepare for the planned return of internally displaced persons from Maiduguri to the camps in Baga when his convoy was attacked by the terrorists. The attack comes barely two months after Governor Zulum was attacked around the same axis by the insurgents on his way from Baga.
