UN Decries Killing of Over 62 Civilians in Guyuk, Lamurde, Dikwa in Northeast Nigeria

Daily Rendezvous The UN Residents Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Matthias Schmale, has expressed concern over the spate of violence by Non State Armed Groups (NSAGs) in Northeast Nigeria leading to the killing of about 30 Civilians, injuring 57, destroying over 500 homes and displacing over 10, 000 locals in Guyuk and Lamurde local governments of Adamawa state. The Humanitarian Coordinator said, some 32 Internally Displaced Persons have also been killed in Mudu village in the outskirts of Dikwa, all between the months of May and June, 2022. This is contained in statement issued by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Schmale said, these strings of violence are endangering the lives of civilians and hampering humanitarian efforts at securing and delivering assistance to millions who are in need in  northeast Nigeria. Breaking: Police Arrest District Head of Over Communal Clash - 6 People Killed in a Deadly Communal Clash in Adamawa

Daily Rendezvous Reports filtering in suggests that the District Head of Lafiya, in Lamurde, Adamawa state has been arrested wirh respect to the violent conflict that brokeout in sone parts of Lamurde and Guyuk local governments in Adamawa state. Rendezvous reliably gathered that about six residents of the community were killed, several injured and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as a result of the conflict. Locals told said that at about noon time on Thursday, security operatives stormed the residence of the district head of Lafiya, Dominic Minekaro and arrested him as a result of the conflict in Adamawa border with Gombe. It is still however unclear why he was arrested but the manner and how the village head was nabbed drew a lot of questions whether it was in tandem with police protocol as locals close to the district head said he should at least have been invited by the police. Gov. Fintiri Imposes Curfew In Parts of Lamurde And Guyuk LGAs

Daily Rendezvous Following renewed clashes in parts of 2 Local Government Areas of Lamurde and Guyuk in the Southern Adamawa, the State Governor, Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has imposed a curfew on the towns  of Lafiya and Boshikiri as well as the surrounding villages of Mumseri, Mere , Kupte and Zakawon with immediate effect.  Governor Fintiri who is disturbed by the recurring  communal clashes warned that "Criminals are challenging the Government's resolve, and we are going to pursue them to the farthest end possible," he said. "We have exhausted all the means to arrest the situation in that area. It now requires a whole new approach because we have been left with no option." Kumangar Blows Hot, Slams Goroki, Sen. Abbo as kings of falsehood

Daily Rendezvous The Director-General, Media to the Governor, Solomon Kumangar, has slammed the member representing Guyuk/Shelleng constituency at the House of representatives, Gibeon Goroki and the Senator representing northern Adamawa, Ishaku Abbo, as two most committed and straightforward liars, whose judgment day awaits them at the polls come 2023. Kumangar, specifically pickled Goroki as a waste of the mandate of the people of Guyuk/Shelleng constituency.
