Breaking: Police Arrest District Head of Over Communal Clash - 6 People Killed in a Deadly Communal Clash in Adamawa

Reports filtering in suggests that the District Head of Lafiya, in Lamurde, Adamawa state has been arrested wirh respect to the violent conflict that brokeout in sone parts of Lamurde and Guyuk local governments in Adamawa state.

Rendezvous reliably gathered that about six residents of the community were killed, several injured and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as a result of the conflict.

Locals told said that at about noon time on Thursday, security operatives stormed the residence of the district head of Lafiya, Dominic Minekaro and arrested him as a result of the conflict in Adamawa border with Gombe.
It is still however unclear why he was arrested but the manner and how the village head was nabbed drew a lot of questions whether it was in tandem with police protocol as locals close to the district head said he should at least have been invited by the police.

Violence had broke out on Monday, between the lunguda natives from Guyuk local government and some Waja natives over farmland disputes Resulting in the killing of about six people.

The governor of Adamawa state had earlier imposed a curfew on some parts of Lamurde and Guyuk to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
Rendezvous gathered that nomalcy has been restored in the area but the conflict has become a recurring decimal of the communities in the last few years despite attempts by top government functionaries from Gombe and Adamawa to resolve the dispute.

Attempts to get the reactions of the Adamawa state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, to respond to the arrest of the District Head prove abortive as the spokesman of the force was not responding to calls.

  1. Kindly cross check years ur information and update. The name of the District Head is Clement Minakaro and not Dominic Minakaro. Also he has been released, please
