Panel Set to Review FCE Yola's Financial, Other Activities. - Calls for Memos From Public

The Visitation Panel reviewing the activities of the Federal College of Education, Yola, has called for memoranda from stakeholders and members of the public, in order to help facilitate its task of reviewing the college's financial management over a period of time, to determine the college's compliance with appropriate regulations, and to fast track its investigation of the application of funds, including special grants and loans designated for particular projects.

The 'Call for Memoranda' letter which was signed by the visitation panel Secretary,  Aje Maikarfi Livinus of the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja,  explained that its review exercise at the FCE Yola is part of a nationwide review of all Federal Colleges of Education and Polytechnics within the past 10 years, that is 2011-2015 and 2016-2020. 

The panel secretary, Aje Livinus, said, in order to effectively carry out its task, it would require memoranda from the FCE Yola community, all stakeholders in education and the general public guided by its nine terms of reference. 

Some of the terms of reference,  according to the Call for Memoranda obtained by newsmen on Thursday included to, "Examine the financial management of the institution over the recommended period and determine whether it is in compliance with appropriate regulations, and investigate the application of funds, particularly the special grants and loans meant for particular projects."

The call for memoranda further added that other terms of reference of the investigation panel include,  "Examine all academic programmes, policies and practices, as well as, the total academic and physical development, performance and direction of the institution and advise as to whether the desired targets have been met."

The visitation panel is also expected to study the management structure and performance of the institution including fiscal,  administrative, personnel and welfare policies and advise on ways to cut cost. 

The panel requests all those who will submit memoranda to communicate with the panel secretary at the Panel Secretariat at the FCE Yola on or before May 4, 2021
