NCPO, Support Groups, Condemn Unlawful Removal of LP State Chairman. - It's a Sponsored Move Against Peter Obi-NCPO State Chair

Daily Rendezvous
The Northern Coalition for Peter Obi (NCPO) has described the unlawful removal of the state chairman of Labour Party (LP) as an afront to the candidacy of Peter Obi, saying it is the handiwork of those who are bent of watering down the huge followership of Peter Obi in the state and the entire northern part of the country.

NCPO said the attempt to remove the state chairman of the party is the work of some imposters in the party and their pay masters outside the party who hell bent on working against Peter Obi, from inside the party.

This is contained in a press statement issued by the state chairman of Northern Coalition for Peter Obi, Hon. Paul Hyelda, Thursday
This week, some conspirators both within and outside LP placed a vote of no confidence on Mr Christopher Nicholas as state chairman of Labour Party. In doing so, these conspirators relied on false allegations without any fair hearing or evidence to buttress their evil machinations .This is a case of the accused turn accusers.

This is, to be sure, a mockery of our internal democracy. The removal of the state chairman of any party is a serious affair and thankfully, the party, like any serious political organization, has laid down procedures in its constitution by which the state  chairman can be removed. Obviously, this goes beyond the question whether or not there is a vote of confidence from his ward, or even local government. But the authors of the current impasse clearly circumvented those process for their selfish motives of sabotaging the party in the general election .

Situation where some people believe that they can manipulate and abuse the party at will in pursuit of their primordial interests does not augur well for Nigeria’s fledgling democracy. It must be discouraged with all the legal and political resources at our  disposal.

This anarchical tendency must be dispensed with if the party's democracy is not to be imperilled, aborted at midnight by lawless individuals.

The plotters launched their attack solely because they perceive the State chairman as an obstacle to their evil greed and anti party activities.

Sadly, those who  connived with some shady characters outside of LP to  remove the State chairman through the back door are enemies of the State and are working for another candidate from other political party. As a matter of fact, we the Stakeholders of LP, Elders forums of Adamawa state and Northern Coalition for Peter Obi (NCPO) comprised all support group wish to state clearly that we will resist this illegallity and it will not stand.
For the major stakeholders, there is nothing like that, we are satisfied with the stewardship of embattled state chairman.

We don't want our party to struggle like PDP and APC is struggling due to internal sabotage.

LP  is a party of integrity and genuine change. Not for charlatans.

The purported removal of Mr Christopher Nicholas is a crude assault on due process. It is a trampling on fair hearing, a political cum judicial coup and an attempt to orchestrate chaos and anarchy in the ruling party, apparently with a view to profiting from the confusion therefrom. It will not and cannot stand.
