NYAKO PROMISES TO CONSTRUCT  LAMURDE ROAD BARNABAS MANYAM The gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress party, (ADC) Abdulaziz Nyako has assured  the people of Lamurde Local Government that if elected Governor he would hasten efforts to construct the long neglected Lafiya-Suwa road in the area. Abdulaziz Nyako made the promise while speaking at Tingno, a predominantly rice farming community but whose agricultural exploits has been dampened by poor   roads network in the area. He said the Lafiya -Lamurde- Suwa road is very important to the ADC Government because when constructed, it would enhance huge rice production and increase the economic base of the area. Controversy Trails Launch of N750m Empowerment Program in Adamawa By Billy Graham Abel Yola Controversy and bitter cry of fowl play trails a ten thousand- man  empowerment program launch over the weekend in Adamawa state. The empowerment scheme organised by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) with technical support from the National Directorate of Employment ( NDE) was an organisational flop after the program turned into a chaotic and frenzy scramble for empowerment pack as many of the enlisted participants were not given either the empowerment pack or the 10,000 naira loan promised them by the organisers. The scheme, though laudable in it's design to empower overtime, about 10,000 women and youths with training in various skills and craft, backed by financial grant of about N1 million to N10 million, had a wobbly debut following failure to give a ten thousand naira cash loan to a number of the beneficiaries that turned out for the event while...

BARNABAS MANYAM, YOLA A senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress Party, ADC in Adamawa State, Patricia Yakubu has blasted the Adamawa State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, for blocking efforts made to established the TIGNO rice milling industry by some Americans and depriving the people of southern Adamawa its benefits. Patricia made the remarks during the Ward-to-ward visit of the ADC party in Lamurde, Adamawa State. Speakinga during the visit to Tigno  town in Lamurde Local Government Area, she said, "When I was the commissioner for agriculture, I proposed the establishment of the rice milling industry including the tarring of a 50km Lafiya-Lamurde- Suwa road. The Amazing Atikulated Bicycle Adventurer   -Rides From Niger State to Yola in Support of Atiku By Billy Graham Abel Yola A bicycle adventurer, Sabiu Dumex, who called himself "Super rider" rides his bicycle from Niger State through Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe and arrived Adamawa within two weeks. Fainted twice, hospitalized several times and encountered hostilities, betrayal and animosities in the course of his perilous voyage but, stayed the course and arrived Yola and rode back to Niger State, Adamawa state. Sabiu, who left Niger State on the 13th of October, 2018, arrived Yola Adamawa state, on the 24th of October, 2018 and had to receive serious medical attention following complications arising from straineous expedition before embarking on a return ride back to Suleja, and arrived on the 31st of January, 2019. Minimum Wage: Adamawa NUT Boss Lauds Rep's Decision By Billy Graham Abel Yola The Adamawa state Chairnan of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, Nathan Rodley has praised the lower chamber of the national Assembly for endorsing the thirty thousand minimum wage saying it is a sign that Nigerians have true representatives in the house and that they are people who hear and understand the plight the Nigerian worker. Rodley explained that the 30,000 naira minimum wage, was a figure reached as a result of serious work by a tripartite committee which has the federal government was fully represented, so it was surprising to see the federal government turning its back on it. He said the federal government decision would have prolonged the protest although he has been optimistic that the national assembly would not have endorsed anything other than the originally reached figure.
