Adamawa Politics: You Were Elected to Work Not Give Excuses- Bindow's Aide Tells Fintiri

Billy

The media aide to the former governor of Adamawa state, Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow, has aimed a scathing criticism at the Fintiri led PDP government saying, the governor, the state party chairman and the Director General, media and Communications to the governor for squandering about fifty days of its time in office aiming futile attacks aimed at tarnishing the image of Jibrilla Bindow.

Martins Dickson said, the Fintiri-led government should be focused on showing how much and how how well it has done so far instead of attacking Bindow's government. Dickson pointed out that the PDP government seems to be crouching under the towering  performance of the former governor having spent its about fifty days in office fixated on the past and with its attention and energy permanently on a past government it claimed failed.

Dickson said, it is normally the characteristics of failing government to divert public's attention from it's incompetence by constantly underwriting its predecessors in order to shift public's scrutiny from its current lack of progress or ideas.

Martins Dickson made the remarks in press statement made available Daily Sun over the weekend.

Dickson said, "It is baffling how the Fintiri led government in Adamawa state is using its first 40 days in office to criticize the Bindow led administration instead of proving to Adamawa people that it has the capacity to provide the dividends of democracy.

"From the Governor, to the state party chairman, the Director General on Media, down to its social media recruits, it has all been Bindow that they took over from as a government.

"It will soon be the traditional 100 days in office and Adamawa people will begin to demand tangible dividends.

"It is becoming increasingly tiring on how the Adamawa State Government has shifted its focus on blaming Bindow for their inability to be effective since taking over governance.

"We expected this administration to channel its energy in adding to all these and more rather than wasting precious time trying to play dirty."

Dickson added that, "Lacking what to talk about, the Fintiri led government and those in its employ has resorted to unnecessary and unfounded blame game rather than serving the people of the state.

"Overflogging the employment issue in the state is not what Fintiri was voted to do(the election victory is still been contested in the tribunal though), it seems they don’t have any other issue on the table except that Adamawa indigenes were employed by Bindow."

He criticized the Fintiri led government for lacking the ability to maintain the momentum of fast paced infrastructural progress that was set by Bindow who constructed over 394 roads in four years. He points out that the Fintiri led government has failed from the onset to maintain basic street lights provided by the Bindow administration to enhance security in the state capital talkless of expanding it to other parts of the city.

"These baseless rhetorics will never diminish the achievements of the Bindow administration in the last four years.

"At the end of this administration’s tenure what will be counted is how much infrastructure and good services the government has provided and not how effectively it has criticized its predecessors," he cautioned.

Dickson went on to laud the glowing track record of the former governor as against the excuses and blame game of the present government saying, "When the Bindow led administration took over there were last minute employments but Muhammed Jibrilla Bindow did not waste energy on why the employments came late but rather focused on adding value to the betterment of Adamawa citizens and he truly added value.

"Over 100 tractors were provided to boost agriculture, steady provision of farm implements was ensured, 394 roads constructed, schools renovated, ongoing hospital construction and renovations are all very tangible and glaring.

"Bindow led administration flagged off the construction of Gumpti-Challawa-Hammanyero road less than one month after taking oath of office and the Labondo - Borrong rural road fourteen days after taking office and it has been series of constructions cutting across 17 Local Government areas in the state until the 29th of May 2019.

"Under the Sustainable Development Goals(SDG), the Bindow led administration constructed 49 primary schools and provided students and teachers with desks in seven Local Government areas of Guyuk, Shelleng, Numan, Demsa, Toungo, Ganye and Yola South.  "For the Universal Basic Education (UBE) under Bindow, it has constructed and renovated over two hundred blocks of classrooms and provided teachers desks and chairs, students desks, computers, in various primary schools across the state, the records are available at the state UBE office."

He challenged that despite the construction of 394 roads in Bindow’s four years in office, the PDP led government should have gone ahead to add value to Bindow's numerous road projects by replicating such in other communities instead of whining about past governments.

He noted that seventeen local governments in the state and communities such as Mallamre, Jambutu, Wauru-jebbe, Demsawo,  Nassarawo, Rumde, Clark quarters,  Karewa, Dougirei, wuro-Hausa,Yola-town, Damare, Yolde-pate, among several communities in the state, are glowing testament of the massive impact Bindow's four years have on the people of Adamawa.

"Let the PDP led Government in the state focus on the provision of  basic infrastructure, provide the basic needs in other sectors and stop the media campaign to smear Bindow," Dickson concluded.
