A man of many parts, Comrade Afiyo is the current National Chairman of the Northern Youth Leaders Forum (NYLF) – the umbrella body of 42 formidable Northern youth groups. Formed in 1990 by the collective wisdom of Nigeria’s political, religious, traditional, and military elites, NYLF has grown into the most influential youth organization in Northern Nigeria, playing a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s political destiny, especially in influencing who becomes President since 1999.

Comrade Afiyo stands as the third National Chairman in the Forum’s illustrious history, following in the footsteps of revered predecessors – Prof. Musa Danladi Musawa and Prof. Sadiq Usman Abubakar. Beyond his political and youth leadership roles, he serves as the Secretary-General of the Association of West African Monarchs, lending his voice and vision to regional unity and traditional institution development. He is also a dedicated Senior Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) – a true symbol of servant leadership across spiritual, civic, and national platforms.

At 60, Comrade Afiyo represents the epitome of visionary leadership, integrity, and unshakable commitment to youth empowerment, national development, and moral transformation.
