Daily Rendezvous Two governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa state have over the weekend met ahead of the party's primary elections. Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas who is considered the frontline aspirant of the party visited Abdullahi Ahmed Musa (Speaker) to break the Ramadan fast and also discuss the way forward for the party ahead of the primaries slated for May 2022. Daily Rendezvous The Frontline gubernatorial contender of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdulrazak Namdas, has rounded-up a state-wide consultation with local government and ward officials of the party ahead of the May gubernatorial primaries of the party. Namdas who kick-started the state-wide consultation tour about a month ago was in Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha local governments Saturday where he was recieved by a mamooth crowd of party executives, youth and women in all the areas visited. Daily Rendezvous The 4th - 7th April convening of the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) evaluated the evidence that has been emerging over past years that single-dose schedules provide comparable efficacy to the two or three-dose regimens. SAGE’s review concluded that a single-dose Human Papillomavirus (HPV)   vaccine delivers solid protection against HPV, the virus that causes cervical cancer, that is comparable to 2-dose schedules.  This could be a game-changer for the prevention of the disease; seeing more doses of the life-saving jab reach more girls. Often referred to as the ‘silent killer’ and almost entirely preventable, cervical cancer is a disease of inequity of access; the new SAGE recommendation is underpinned by concerns over the slow introduction of the HPV vaccine into immunization programs and overall low population coverage, especially in poorer countries.
