Daily Rendezvous    The Federal High Court in Lagos has extended the order stopping President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from revoking the licenses of 53 broadcast stations in the country, and shutting down the stations for allegedly failing to renew their licenses.   Honourable Justice Akintayo Aluko (Court 8) had on 29 August 2022 granted an order of interim injunction following the hearing of an argument on motion exparte by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).   The order was granted pending the hearing of the Motion on Notice for interlocutory injunction.   When the case came up before the Court for hearing today, Honourable Justice Daniel Emeka Osiagor extended the order of interim injunction pending the hearing of the Motion on Notice, and adjourned the case to 26th October 2022 for the hearing of the originating summons.   The Court extended the...

Daily Rendezvous 5 September 2022 Outbreak at a glance As of 3 September 2022, a cluster of 11 cases of severe pneumonia,   including four deaths, have been reported in San Miguel de Tucumán city, Tucuman Province, Argentina.  Legionella  spp. was isolated in the samples from four cases. Legionellosis is a pneumonia-like illness that varies in severity from mild febrile illness to a serious and sometimes fatal form of pneumonia. Cases were initially reported as being pneumonia of unknown cause. Legionella bacteria was identified as the causative organism on 3 September. All cases presented with bilateral pneumonia, fever, myalgia, abdominal pain, and dyspnea between 18 and 25 August 2022 and are epidemiologically linked to one health facility. Of the 11 cases, eight are health workers of the facility; three are patients of the health facility. Three of the four deaths were among health workers. Daily Rendezvous - Appoints Taddawus Acting Chairman Twenty-five members of the state executive committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have today impeached the chairman of the party Ibrahim Bilal. The committee cited gross abuse, corruption, dereliction of duty, embezzlement of party properties, usurbing party properties for his personal reasons,antipaty activities, among other infractions levelled against him. The SEC members also unanimously endorsed the deputy chairman, Samaila Taddawus as acting chairman.
