SCHOOL FEEDING PROGRAM: FG Engages Trained Independent Monitors - 2400 Vendors, 1,047 Schools to Benefit

Daily Rendezvous The Social Investment Programme has launched another phase of the School Feeding Program in Adamawa, engaging Trained Independent Monitors, about 2400 vendors in over 1047 schools in Adamawa state alone. The ripple effect is that no fewer than 168,692 pupils in 1,047 primary schools in Adamawa, in addition to 2,400 vendors, are benefiting from the Federal Government’s School Feeding Programme, a federal government official has said. Mary Yuwadi, Adamawa state Focal Person, National Social Investment Program (NSIP) made this known on at the flag off of the distribution ceremony in Yola, Adamawa state. Daily Rendezvous The Community Led Collective Action for Girls' Education (C-CAGE) says, an urgent intervention is needed in schools in the northeast for the provision of water, hygiene and toilet facilities in order to mitigate the girl-child's chances of dropping out of school. The group says there are chances that over 20 million girls might drop out of school due to the impact of Covid-19, hence all stakeholders need to work together to address the social, cultural and systemic factors inhibiting the girl-child's access to esucation in the north east, Nigeria. The group says, it has worked with relevant bodies to train 275 Education stakeholders, and that it has created 16 safe spaces for girls in Adamawa which has led to about 960 enrollments of girls to school saying these safe spaces have made it possible for about 606 in-school and out-of-school girls to be engaged in peer Learning and experience sharing. Daily Rendezvous His Excellency,  Governor  Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle of the Adamawa State Executive Council.  Six Commissioners are to swap positions.  They include Sanusi Farouk Jauro who until now was Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development. He moves  to Special Duties, Mohammed Umar moves from Local Government Affairs to Ministry of Land and Survey, while Ibrahim Mijinyawa replaces him at the Ministry of Local Government Affairs.  Others are Alloysious Babadoke who moves from Special Duties to Youth and Sport Development. Umar Daware and Dr Dishi Khobe are to swap positions with Umar Daware taking over the Ministry of Agriculture, while Dr Dishi Khobe takes over Ministry of Tertiary and Professional Education as Commissioner.  The redeployment are intended to create a new vigour and vitality for service delivery which has been the hallmark of the Government of the Rt.Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. ...
