ADAMAWA 2019:  BELLO DUMPS APC, DECLARES FOR ADAMAWA GOVERNORSHIP RACE

ADAMAWA 2019:  BELLO DUMPS APC, DECLARES FOR ADAMAWA GOVERNORSHIP RACE

By Billy Graham Abel Yola

Former member of the House of representatives and APC stalwart, Chief Emmanuel Bello has dumped the APC and declares to run as the governor of Adamawa state under the flag of the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Chief Bello made the declaration Sunday, in Yola Adamawa state.

Chief Bello speaking , “I have ideas and track records that shows that I can transform Adamawa state into a state that can survive without waiting for revenue from the federal government.

"Bindow's road construction are elitist in nature, constructed in city centers, adding nothing to the economic profile of the state.”

Bello said he has left indelible mark in his community when he served as the member of the house of representative that cannot be refuted and that his ingenuity and purpose driven leadership is what Adamawa needs to take the state forward.

Chief Emmanuel Bello said when he left the PDP for APC  in 2014, it was because of his growing concern of rising unemployment, deplorable insecurity situation, breakdown of health system and a complete collapse of the education system in the country, a problem which he thought could be solved working with the APC.

Bello said that these problems still persists under the APC led government.

Bello explained that though the APC constitution clearly spelt out how it would address these issue but his move into APC for refuge and social Justice was only greeted with estrangement from the party's activities as he was never truly welcomed into the party as he was never part of any APC's stakeholders meeting since joining the party because the party lacked cohesion, unity or the ability to organise congresses at ward, state and national levels.

Speaking on the state of APC in Adamawa state Bello said, “In technical terms the party is dead  in Adamawa state  and its relics in the pocket of a few.”

He criticized the party saying,    “What is left of the party lacks cohesion and unity required to present a common front," saying that most of the people in the people in the party are, “Strange-bed-mates.”

Bello said he has resigned his membership of the APC in his ward in Garkida since the 3rd of March, 2018 and have already registered as member of the SDP on the 4th of March, 2018 carrying along with him about one hundred thousand of his teaming supporters from the APC across the state.

Speaking on his decision to join the SDP he said, “ This is a party I once belonged to and a party that represents the philosophy, ideals and fundamental political positions I believe in and have moulded my politics all these years.

"I am satisfied with the manifesto of the SDP and it is a blueprint I will like to implement in Adamawa state and by an SDP president.”
