SDP CRISIS: Chief Bello''s Aide Faults Suspension claims

The leadership of the Social Democratic Party SDP in Adamawa state has suspended one of its foremost gubernatorial aspirant, chief Emmanuel Bello saying chief Emmanuel Bello has been plotting to hijack the party and displayed undemocratic values since he dumped the APC for the party.
The suspension which was announced by the state chairman of the party, Ibrahim Bebetu,Thursday, came just weeks after chief Emmanuel Bello dumped the APC and defected to the SDP declaring to run for governorship of the state.
According to the chairman of the party, Bebetu, it has become imperative for the party to suspend chief Bello in order to bring sanity back to the party.
Bebetu said, "Emmanuel Bello decamped from APC and we gladly received him. But shortly after that event, he approached us and requested that we should closed the sale of governorship forms to other intending aspirants, which we refused to do."
"Chief Bello went further to form a parallel executive at the local government level and also went to the extent of distributing membership cards and registers to party members at the grassroots.
"We have consulted the national Secretariat and have resolved to suspend chief Emmanuel Bello indefinitely."
The Adamawa state Secretary of the party, Dr. John Luka said, "We have tried all available and reasonable means of coming to an understand with the aspirant but all was to no avail.
"We want the world to know that chief Bello has been suspended from the party because of highhandedness.
"He had earlier demanded that SDP surrender 69% of the state working committee of the party and executives of the party at ward, local government and state levels through a delegation led by one General John Zaruwa (rtd) to the party secretariat. Our refusal to accept this proposal is what led to all these maze and lies, deceit and mischief" he said.
However, the announcement of the suspension was immediately followed by a press statement made available to Daily, Thursday and signed by Maj. General John Samuel Zaruwa, identifiying himself as the state convener of the party and chairman of the starring committee of the party. Zaruwa said members of public should disregard the said suspension of chief Emmanuel Bello explaining that he (Gen Zaruwa) has been posted to Adamawa state as the convener of the party, hence, the party affairs and activities are in his hands.
Gen Zaruwa said, "I have been posted to Adamawa state to serve as convener for the Movement for New Political Order, saddled with the responsibility of integrating members of the movement into the Social Democratic Party structures in the state.
Zaruwa further explained that, "The general public and the teeming members and supporters of the SDP should disregard any information from anybody in whatever capacity or the secretariat of the Adamawa state chapter of the party."
He called on all members and supporters of the party to remain calm as they working to carry out the integration process of the party as directed by the national secretariat of the party.
The Chief Press secretary to Chief Emmanuel Bello, Com. Umar Mustapha explained to Daily Sun, that the state executives of the party led by Ibrahim Bebetu have been officially dissolved yesterday, the 11th of April, 2018 and a 15-man steering Committee members have been constituted led by General John Samuel Zaruwa as the chairman and Alh. Ahmed Muktar as the secretary of the party towards harmonizing all interests within the party.
He said, the actions of Mr. Ibrahim Bebetu was immaterial since he has has been relieved of his position following the constitution of the state Steering Committee under the leadership of Gen Zaruwa.
