Adamawa Guber: APC May Not Have Governorship, Other Candidates

By Billy Graham Abel Yola

Adamawa APC may not field a gubernatorial, senatorial or house of representatives candidates in the 2019 elections, if the ongoing governorship primary impasse remains and the conundrum clouding the party primaries prevails beyond the Sunday deadline for submission of candidates by parties.

As at Saturday morning, there are no empirical evidence that elections have indeed been held in any part of the state as prescribed by the chairman of the Primaries committee, Maj Gen. Tijanni Ahmed.

Tijanni Ahmed had prescribed that the primaries in Adamawa would only be held when all voters are certified to be members of the party based on the official register to be distributed by the committee to all wards in the state.

The committee maintains that all voters in the primaries must present a party membership card which must tally with their permanent voters card and consistent with their details in the party register that would be available in every ward.

Judging from the conduct of the Friday primary, it is clear that there was no where any of these criteria was remotely observed and details of the primaries have remained subject of rumors, hearsays and contradictory social media fabrication.

As at 11 pm Saturday, the Tijanni Ahmed led committee is yet to issue an official statement as to the conduct of the primaries elections.
