FG Enlists 45000 Beneficiaries for Trader Moni in Adamawa

The federal government has registered over forty five thousand beneficiaries into the Trader Moni Enterprise and Empowerment Programme in Yola, Adamawa state.
An official of the enterprise made this disclosure while fielding questions from newsmen in, Friday, in Yola, Adamawa state.
Ignatius Gabriel, the Adamawa state enumerators coordinator, said, he expects the number to increase far more than the figure on ground after overcoming the take off challenge of skepticism over the authenticity of the program.
At the official launching of the enterprise at the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market in Yola, the program coordinator explained that the program had suffered from traditional skepticism related to failed loan disbursement schemes in the past.
The Adamanwa state coordinator of the Trader Moni program, Ignatius Gabriel Aigba, said, We have been receiving good cooperation in Adamawa even though the built up has been very slow but I am sure that after the open market campaign today, there would be more people captured.
"We don't just give anyone on the street the loan, we target market people to ensure that the amount received will be channel into a specific business.
"We have already recruited about one hundred and twenty enumerators who have been spreading the word largely through word of mouth.
"Very soon we will be going into local government areas to capture more people into the enterprise."
Taiwo Akorede explained that, "We have our agents all over the state that speak all the relevant languages who explainsed to them how it works, from having N10000 naira to N15,000, up to N100,000 naira.
"Beneficiaries are expected to register with us and within 72 hours, they would be notified of their loan approval and they can approach our office for payment.
A small scale trader, Ahmadu Abubakar, who trades in cosmetics and also a holder of a National Certificate in Education (NCE) said, "I am so excited with this opportunity because it will help support and improve my business.
"I was not lucky to be captured in the N-power program but I received an SMS from Trader Moni and I am confident that the program is not a fraud.
"So many of my friends thought it was a joke when we received the information that the federal government is giving out loans, I am very confident that this government is committed to moving this country forward, so am grateful for the loan."
