2019: Reconcilation Committee Welcomed But Belated-Duhu

By Billy Graham Abel Yola

The pioneer National Vice Chairnan, North East of the APC, Umar Duhu, described the Constitution of a reconciliatory committee by the APC as a welcomed development but a belated one move.

Duhu Said, APC left many of its members in the dark heading into the congresses and primaries about what it intends to do in many states and how they intend to attain candidacy at so many levels, leaving on it's trails that alot of bad blood and ill feeling among members of the party.

Duhu made the remarks Saturday, while addressing newsmen in Yola, Adamawa State.

Duhu Said, "A situation where members of the party were allowed to purchase forms and only to be told in some instances that others were consensus candidates was unsettling and a serious problem that the APC must address."

Duhu however maintained that he has confidence in the Almakura led reconcilation committee of the APC and that most of the misunderstandings would be resolved.

Speaking on the position of president Muhammadu Buhari on the rights of members of the party to proceed to court against the decision of the party, Duhu Said, "It is an act of a true democratic and a costodian of the constitution of the federal republic Nigeria.

"The constitution has given every Nigerian the right to approach the court, that is the position Buhari is protecting, though the party's constitution insist that internal conflict resolution mechanism of the party must be exhausted, the constitution of the country is supreme.

He said, APC at the state and national level would win the 2019 elections. "Atiku and Fintiri are not threats to Buhari and Bindow in 2019.

"The Adamawa aspirant of the PDP has no legacy to fall back to other than a cheap claim to salary of civil servants. Governor Jibrilla Bindow has already secured the facility to clear backlog of inherited salary arrears.

"Nigerians have the legacies of Buhari and Atiku and they know who the best person is and Buhari has way much more class and respect over Atiku.

"Within the shortest period of Buhari's leadership, he has embarked on massive infrastructural projects nationwide with the intent to revamp the country's economy."
