Adamawa 2019: Buhari Has Entrenched Corruption in Nigeria
By Billy Graham Abel Yola
The governorship candidate of the All Blending Party, ABP, Daniel Shaga Ismaila has accused the government of president Muhammadu Buhari of entranching corruption in Nigeria saying the APC's so-called fight against corruption is one of the many acts of lips services the government has come to be known for.
He said Nigeria has slumped deeply into corruption and that the common man has been deprived of the basic necessities of food, shelter and protection of his life and property as a result of it.
Daniel Shaga Ismaila made the remarks over the weekend, at the flag off ceremony of his governorship campaign for the southern zone of the state in Numan, Adamawa state.
The candidate said, APC has not done anything to curb corruption in the country but instead it has exacerbate the already worrying situation and plunge the country into trouble.
Shaga said, when he becomes governor under the flag of the ABP, he would change the negative narrative of conflict and poverty by which Adamawa state is notorious.
The candidate singled out Vice president Yemi Osinbanjo for crtitisism paying over the incensitivity and lack of compassion saying after series of herdsmen attacks in the Numan area, the vice president promised to bring government's intervention to the community but as usual it ended being a political statement as people whose lives and houses were burnt received only two hundred naira as compensation.
Ismaila said, the people of Adamawa state would enjoy better healthcare, education, prompt payment of salaries and care for the elderly under his leadership.
"The ABP government would work to halt the spate of killings, youth unemployment in the state, and overdependence of federal resources.
"The APB led government would improve school funding, the welfare of retirees and elderly and connect members of the state to national health insurance scheme for better healthcare provision," Ismaila said.
He challenged the people of Adamama to shun money bags, stand for what they believe and vote to protect the destiny of their families.
He noted that Adamawa is wealthy enough not to depend on any federal handout but for the lack of vision of political leaders that governed the state in the past.
