Armed Forces Remembrance Day: The North East Remains Grateful to the Armed Forces

The Adamawa state governor, Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, has praised the officers and men of the Nigerian armed forces describing them as  "Professional" in their task of maintaining peace, national unity and in the protection of the territorial integrity of the country.

Jibrilla said, the north east region will forever remain grateful to the Armed Forces for the return of peace and nomalcy in the region.

The governor made the remarks in a press statement issued by his Special Assistant, on Media and Publicity, Macauley Hunohashi, in commemoration of this year's Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Jibrilla said, "The Nigerian military has proven its mettle as a disciplined institution that operates within the confines of its core mandates, doing the nation proud.

"No amount of energy, time or resources is too much in the effort to remember our fallen heroes who have paid the supreme prize to defend the nation from both internal and external aggression.

"We in the North East region of the country in particular, have every reason to thank the military because it is their tireless and unrelenting effort that has stopped terrorists from taking over our states."

He commended president Muhammadu Buhari, for providing the military with mordern military equipment in the sustained fight against insurgency, kidnapping and armed banditry.

The governor also called on all Nigerians to give moral support to the military and to also pray for the military to prevail in its determined effort to rid the country of bad elements as well as protect the territorial integrity of the nation.
