Boarding Students Begging For Food, Allocating Land for Hotel in Girls School: Not Good Signs of Prioritising Education in a Botched Second Term-Kumangar Fires At Bindow

Billy

The Director General, Media and Communications to the Adamawa State governor, Solomon Kumangar has aimed a dig at the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, to the former governor, Martin's Dickson, over his comments in his article titled, "Is Adamawa State PDP government Ready for Governance," saying the spurious claims by Bindow's Aide that the Bindow led APC government was poised to pay attention to education in its second term was completely unfounded and false, pointing out that a government that declared a State of Emergency on Education at the onset of its administration would not lay claim to a second term plan, that a government that neglected boarding schools students in the state to resort to begging for food because of hunger and that a government that allocates lands within government girls schools for hotel, definitely does not have any good intentions or future plans for education in the state.

Kumangar, who in a bullish statement, argues that, the past administration was littered with corruption, failed promises, maltreatment of civil servants and cruel treatment of pensioners in the state.

Kumangar said, "I will like to reply to Martins Dickson, the Senior Special Adviser to former Adamawa State Governor Sen. Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow on the above subject matter.

"Your under the belt blow is the main reason I want to reply to your gibberish concerning the administration of Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri."

He said, "You wrote about the street lights that were working under the past administration, I'm dumbfounded to read that it serves as security.

"Security my foot, where were you when young boys formed the dreaded Shilla gang that has been terrorizing residence of Jimeta and environs unabated?

"You now have security that you wrote that jargon in the night without any small boys snatching your phone and possibly stabbing you.
CAN YOU TELL THE PEOPLE OF ADAMAWA STATE THE AMOUNT YOU GUYS SPENT IN POWERING THE SO CALLED STREET LIGHTS?

"I felt ashamed and embarrassed to see that you brought the issue of post primary school teachers, it is either you were not appointed as the SSA Media to the Governor or you just overlooked the fact that your boss sacked batch D1 employed teachers who worked for 29 months without salary.

"The sacked 659 teachers dragged the state  government to court over unpaid salaries after working without pay for 29 months.

"If it may interest you to know, the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) ordered the Adamawa State government to pay N660 million to 659 teachers sacked by Governor Bindow."

The DG Media and Communications further broaden his criticism saying, "Bindow was selective in his appointments and recruitments. He did not show consideration for welfare of workers.

"He rather turned his administration into a private estate as all contracts and procurements did not follow due process.

"Since Bindow became governor, job vacancies were not advertised but only through illegal waiver, some secondary school teachers were employed secretly and over 6,000 lecturers recruited secretly at the Adamawa State Polytechnic, all in the name of the Governor.

"I am very sure that Bindow never knew what a waiver is, in fact till date. If you are suffering from Dementia, we are not.

"Talking about the Gumpti – Challaw – Hammanyero and Labondo – Borrong road that the then Governor approved for construction, if not because Governor Nyako left a lot of money in the coffers of the state government, it wouldn’t have been possible.

"TELL US HOW MUCH HE INHERITED FROM NYAKO's ADMINISTRATION, HOW MUCH HE LEFT FOR Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri AND ALSO THE LEVEL OF WORK IN THOSE AREAS BEFORE HE LEFT OFFICE

"Apart from the Numan Hospital that we all know was under construction, tell us how many more did he construct?"

He further went on to say, "For you to drag the Director General, Media and Communications to the Governor means you have no idea on what you are talking about.

"Between you as a Senior Special Adviser on media and the Commissioner of Information and strategies, Ahmad Sajoh, what have you achieved?

"Apart from the hotel you built in Karewa, what other achievements can you boast of?

"Ahmed Sajoh's case is even worse, I am a journalist working with the state government and the sector has not improved a bit in your wasted four years term.

"Or do you think we don’t know that you were in the habit of shortchanging the media team you took on your fruitless journey on road construction? You better forget about the case at the tribunal, it’s dead on arrival.

"You must be in a comatose state to even say that Bindow was prepared to focus on education in his second term when he declared a state of emergency on education with the aim of reviving the sector with nothing to write home about after two years."

Talking about the previous governments fake declaration of The State of Emergency on Education in stae, he said,  "How will you describe the students of Government Girls Secondary school Yola, who were underfed even as they are staying opposite the Government house?

"In fact how many schools did he built or renovated in his four years term?

"Your administration had the audacity to sell the school’s land with the purpose of building a hotel in an educational facility.

"Under Bindow's administration, students in boarding schools go on streets to beg for food, as government no longer provides money for their feeding.

"Students in most of the government schools have their lectures under the trees, in some cases they sit on bare floor due to lack of furniture.

"Teachers contribute money to buy chalk and other learning materials,
wake up to reality, Bindow is a goner."

Kumangar, while acknowledging progress in road construction in the state, however faulted the underhand tactics with which the former governor used road projects to enrich himself.

Kumangar lamented the deplorable working condition of civil servants in the state and the harsh and ill-treatment pensioners received under the Bindow APC government.

"Workers, pensioners and local government employees placed their curse on the governor, for treating them like slaves.

"For three years, Adamawa pensioners have not been paid, local government workers’ salary for eight months was hanging, but due to the elections, Bindow paid some months, but pensioners remained unpaid.

"For three years, government workers have not received their leave grant/allowances, despite the bailout funds received by the state," he maintains.

Kumangar said, "Bindow left a burden of over 100b on this administration and here you are on social media ranting,

"Accept defeat just like your boss did and let’s move on, to move the state forward instead of writing long grammars just to confuse people.

"Oga just calm down and focus on your hotel business."
