NLC Suspends Strike As FG Halts Draconian Electricity Tariff, Offers Labour "Incentives"

Daily Rendezvous The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has called off its planned nationwide strike action after several hours of negotiations saw federal government delegation led by Boss Mustapha, backtracks on its draconian electricity tariff and offered labour several incentives it claimed would cushion the effect of government policies on workers in the country. Among the incentives offered by FG included a plan to suspend taxation on minimum wage, among other policies designed to be implemented between now and the year 2021. This is contained in a statement jointly issued both labour and government, Sunday. While the electricity tariff might have been temporarily suspended, the fuel hike in price still prevails amidst government promises that could only be implemented between now and 2021. SECURITY: Boko Haram Kill 7 Policemen, 3 Soldiers As It Launches Attack On Zulum’s Convoy

Daily Rendezvous Seven policemen and three soldiers killed as Boko haram terrorists attack Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum’s convoy Eight policemen, three soldiers, and four Civilian Joint Task Force operatives were killed after the convoy of the Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, was again attacked by Boko Haram terrorists along the Baga Highway in the state on Friday, September 25. According to reports, the governor had left Maiduguri for Baga to prepare for the planned return of internally displaced persons from Maiduguri to the camps in Baga when his convoy was attacked by the terrorists. The attack comes barely two months after Governor Zulum was attacked around the same axis by the insurgents on his way from Baga.

The governor who express regrets over the prolonged school closure as well as the shutdown of several sectors of the economy as a result of the coronavirus pandemic urged schools to maintain all the necessary safety protocols for prevention against the pandemic. Adamawa: Only The Bad Eggs Left, r-PDP to PDP, "They Wanted Rice"

Daily Rendezvous r-PDP has reacted to claims by the PDP state chiarman, AT Shehu, that its entire state executive have left the party, saying only eight members of the state excos left and the remaining twenty two are still with the group. The group in a statement issued by its new acting state chairman, Ethan Bugi said, it is only the bad eggs among the r-PDP members that left and their main reasons for leaving was because they were not given rice. Fintiri said the renovation and construction of the schools by UNICEF is in consistence with the state governments policy thrust of revamping the education sector in the state after it has suffered decades of neglect and that the project fits into his government's agenda of making equal opportunities in education available to all. Daily Rendezvous Senior Senior Assistant to the Adamawa state governor on Social Mobilisation, Victor Dogo, has slammed a local media, Desert Herald, over its persistent spurious and misguided attacks on the government of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the person of the SSG, Bashir Ahmed, discribing it's recent publication, "Adamawa in The Sludge" as a cheap but failed attempt at blackmail and mischief.
