Be Magnanimous In Victory, Fintiri Charges Obaseki
The Adamwaa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulate the newly elected governor of Edo state, Godwin Obasaki, saying it was a well deserved victory and a strong statement by the Edo people.
Fintiri, who is the vice chairman of the PDP National Campaign Committee, tasked Obasaki, to be magnanimous in victory by extending hands of friendship to the opposition and called on him to use his second term in office to deliver quality service to the people of Edo state.
Fintiri made the remarks in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, and made available to Newsmen, over the weekend.
The statement reads, "Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the poll.
"Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the September 19th election is an affirmation that has further demonstrated that his election is indeed a true reflection of the wishes of the people of Edo state."
The statement further said, "Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who is the vice chairman of the PDP National campaign committee therefore urged Governor Obaseki and the PDP, to extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition and dedicate himself to re-uniting the people and be the Governor to all.
“The path is now clear for focused piloting of the states affairs towards doing more for the people of Edo in your last term as Governor."
He adminished Obasaki saying, "You have written your name in gold as one who changed the politics of Edo state by putting god fatherism to rest.
"Because the people of Edo have spoken well and made their votes count."
