Governor Fintiri Felicitates With Muslims At the Commencement Of Ramadan Fast

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Adamawa for the successful commencement of Ramadan fast today Tuesday following the sighting of the moon in some parts of the country Monday evening.
The Governor observed that "Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and the most sacred month of the year in the Islamic culture which capable Muslims fast for the period of 29 or 30 days."
Governor Umaru Fintiri says "We should during this blessed Ramadan abstain from pleasures and pray to become closer to God. It is also a time for families and people to gather and pray for abundant reward from Allah."
The Fresh Air Governor says "Ramadan is a period of sacrifice and renunciation as well as reflection and spiritual growth. It is also a powerful symbol of unity, with Muslims around the world fasting simultaneously.
He therefore urged Muslims in Adamawa to use the Ramadan period to strenthen brotherliness among them and assist the needy in the society and promote peaceful coexistence in the state.
He also appealed to the faithful to utilize the Ramadan period by praying fervently to God to bring to an end, the security challenges bedevilling the Country and seek God to guide the nation's leaders in the act of governance.
Governor Umaru Fintiri prayed to God "To grant adherants the ability to utilise every precious moment of this Blessed month to engage in that which pleases Him. Congratulations Muslim brothers and Sisters in Adamawa for the Ramadan period. Ramadan Kharim."
