Four APC govs storm Yola as PDP BoT member defects to APC

Yola, the capital of Adamawa State was agog as three serving All Progressives Congress (APC) governors stormed the city to formally receive Sen. Grace Jackson Bent, a member of Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who defected to the ruling party.

Yahaya Bello of Kogi State represented by his deputy, Lawrence Onoja, Gov. Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State, and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, made a huge statement by storming Yola to celebrate the capture of the former Ruling party's board member, Grace Bent.

In an elaborate ceremony attended by many party bigwigs within and outside Adamawa State, the National Chairman Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee (CCECC), Mai Mala-Buni, welcomed the new entrant saying that her decision to join the ruling party at this critical time was apt.

Mala-Buni who was represented by former senate president, Ken Nnamani noted that in recent times, the party has been poaching on the opposition political parties crippling their support base.

He said the massive defection into APC was an indication of the ever increasing popularity of the party build on principles of equity and fair play noting that the massive infrastructure and solid democratic credentials being rooted by the party was its major selling point.

Nnamani assured the new entrants that as a party which treats everybody fairly, they will be given the same opportunities alongside those they met in the party.

He called on all party members to work in harmony with them so as to move the party forward and reclaim its lost mandate in the state.

Also re-echoing Mala-Buni, the National Vice Chairman Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Committee North East, Professor Mamman Tahir welcomed senator Bent with a promise to get a fair deal from the party.

He assured her that her decision to come to the party was wise and timely as APC has become the party to beat in Nigeria considering its massive attraction to all Nigerians.

In his remark, the state chairman caretaker extraordinary convention committee, Alh. Ibrahim Bilal told the senator that she is now in safe hands adding that she will not regret leaving her former party.

Bilal who was represented by Samaila Tadawus promised to ensure that the senator is accorded equal rights and privileges as a member of the party noting that she can contest for any position in the party.

He called on all party members to extend hand of fellowship and give her the maximum cooperation to contribute optimally to the development of the party.
