2023: I Have What it Takes to Transform Adamawa -Otumba, Fintiri Has failed Adamawa People

Daily Rendezvous
The leading contender for APC gubernatorial ticket, Umar Mustapha (Otumba) says he has the ideas to turn Adamawa furtunes around by ending the perennial dependance of state government on federal coffers saying Adamawa has abundant resources to be self-sustaining and economically independent.

Mustapha said, the Fintiri led PDP government lacks foresight and leadership quality to turn the fortunes to take Adamawa unto a state of wealth and economic growth insisting that Fintiri's flyovers are the worst cosmetic approach to addressing traffic congratulations that never existed.

Umar Mustapha made this known in an exclusive chat with Daily Rendezvous, in Yola, Adamawa state.

Mustapha said, no intelligent and forward thinking government will borrow huge amount of funds like Fintiri does only to build monuments for his glorification without any economic benefits.

Otumba said, "A sensible approach to developmental governance for a state like Adamawa and almost all northern states that lack capacity for self sustainance, is to invest borrowed money in infrastructures that have the capacity to generate more income that would inturn fund other development projects in the state.

" Fintiri's flyovers overs useless in the sense that they don't solve the traffic congestion because there was not one and it is economically senseless because it is was borrowed and it has no economic value instead, it ended up shutting the gates which was a source of income."

Stating his claims as the best candidate to hoist the flag of APC, he said, " I am the best person to lead APC and defeat the Fintiri-lrd tyranny.

"Fintiri has no ideas. When he become governor, even though I was and am still a member of the opposition party, Adamawa remains my state, so I offered him my help to bring investment to develop my state.

"I asked for an office and a secretary, I told them I don't need salary or allowances, just an opportunity to help him succeed and end wanton state of poverty which I observed while campaigning for my senatorial ambition then.

"I was shocked that they refused to corporate. When they heard that I was running for governor, they are now sending all kinds of emisaries saying they want us to work together.

"I have some business ideas that would generate N20 billion monthly for idea, they are scientifically and tested ideas. I funded the research and brought them here. Under my leadership, Adamawa will become one of the richest states in the country and we would effectively alleviate poverty from among our people."

He further criticises Gov. Fintiri's economic policies saying, "The governor has destroyed education in the state by deboarding about 30 boarding schools in the state just for his personal gains after allocating N100 million monthly for feeding students in boarding schools in Adamawa.

While querying that the amount was too meagre and subjects students to leaving from hands to mouth. He said his analysis shows that every student in an Adamawa boarding school feeds on N90 a day, "What kind of food can you eat with that amount? That is a call for students to go out begging or look for other alternative source to feed themselves."

Mustapha blasted the PDP government led government as lacking ideas and that it is living on a borrowed time running into 2023.
