FACE-OFF: Kumangar Aims a Dig at Sen.Abbo, Said He lied Over Apology Claims
Daily Rendezvous
The Director-general media to Governor Fintiri of Adamawa state, Mr Solomon Kumangar, has vowed to resist any move to undermine the current administration of Governor Fintiri by Ishaku Abbo or any publicaly exposed person on account of opposition.
Besides, the Director-General backed “genuine” and constructive criticism of the current Administration but not hauling insults on the Governor, adding that the Governor was never at any time opposed to constructive criticism.
The warning may have been informed by a Facebook post made by Ishaku Abbo, falsely claiming that the Director General Media to Governor Fintiri, Solomon Kumangar, has apologised to him for severally criticising him.
“Am ready to defend Governor Fintiri with my last blood as being in opposition does not suggest Ishaku Abbo should be hauling insults on the Governor.
"This fellow is not the only person in oppostion in Adamawa why is he so obessed with throwing tantrums at the Governor? politically and age wise, Abbo is in elementary school compared to Fintiri's credentials in poltics.
“We, therefore, warn those seeking an undeserved political advantage to desist. As the head of the Governor’s media directorate, I am conscious of my obligations, as well as, rights and will discharge and defend same without reservations.
“if there is anyone that should be in jail when it comes to character assassination, it should be Abbo."
"Ishaku Abbo today took to his Facebook page claiming that I Kumangar has apologised to him in a statement I the DG media believe is libellous and equivalent to lies from the pit of hell."
Abbo, in a veil reference to an online publication, he also alleged that “an online medium has been recruited to constantly run a smear campaign against me including criminal defamation which are carefully compiled and I swear at the right time he will answer for his crimes”.
Reacting to this insinuation, the Editor in chief of the Online paper, Michael Joseph, was quoted to have said, “I know even without calling our medium by name that Abbo is referring to us; however he should know that we do not defame people but report facts and actions and inactions that affect the public.
“We have witnessed Abbo calling a man that has never been convicted by any court a criminal, which is more criminal than any statement issued by the DG media to the Governor; we are suggesting to him to explain to the people why he took a young man to court in Adamawa claiming he was defamed on Facebook.
“We still remember Abbo calling APC a party of propagandists and severally labelling same with in derogative terms yet he was not threatened, yet he is claiming an online paper is criminally defaming him. He should know he has no immunity as a Senator yet the Governor did not threaten to sue him despite calling him unprintable names."
