An APC stalwart, the National Vice Chairman, North East and zonal chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Salisu Mustapha, has tasked members of the party in Adamawa state to go out in their numbers to their respective polling units and cast their votes in the 9th April, 2022 forthcoming local government elections in Adamawa state and be rest assured that no will be able to stop them from being declared winners if they win.
Mustapha said, electorates should ignore the rumours that elections would not hold or that their votes would not matter, saying the party is ready to contend with every force or government body that attempts to invalidates electorates votes in the state.
Mustapha made the remarks at a press conference in Yola, Adamawa state.
Mustapha said, "I will like to call on our people not to be discouraged but to go out and vote because we will ensure that their votes are counted.
"Because the rumours making rounds is that the government in power will just write down results and that the elections will not matter. We will also caution them not to heed to the rumours that there are plans not to hold any elections or that even if we win, it will not be declared.
"I will like to assure them that all their votes will matter and there is no government or any person that will stop them from emerging winners if they do win.
"And if they witness any anomaly, they should first lodge their complains at the polling units or local governments where they voted and no man or government can stop any of them from being declared a winner if and when they win."
Speaking on the state of the nation, Salisu Mustapha said, the security challenge in the country is a difficult one and Nigerians should not despair because the government of president Muhammadu Buhari is committed to ending insecurity in the country but it will also need the support of all our people to successfully fight against insurgency.
All over the world, the fight against terrorism involving gorilla warfare has never been easy but with the support of our people, it can be done and terrorism conquered..
Mustapha said, "The people perpetuating insecurity in Nigeria are not ghost, they live in our community and they are part of us and unless we all make the security our country our personal concerns and decisively take the responsibility to fish them out it will be difficult to win.
"The environment for the fight is different now because we have the political will from president Muhammadu Buhari and the military might to do it, considering the amount of money expended in the purchase of arms which has properly equipped our military to fight terrorism, that is why military have been able to defend their barracks but an important component required is the support of the people.
"We are not blaming Nigerians but we are calling on everyone to see security of this country as issues that affects them directly and that they owe the country a duty to provide credible intelligence to help in the fight against insecurity in the country."
