President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the Bill to establish the Federal Medical Centre,Hong.
The President, who signed the Bill Friday at the State House ,Abuja, following a request from the National Assembly after the bill sponsored by Rt.Hon.( Dr.) Yusuf Buba Yakub at the House of Representatives received the concurrence of the Nigerian Senate a few months ago..
In a release signed by the Gombi/Hong Rep and made available to Newsmen, Friday, the elated lawmaker expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha and to the entire members of the National Assembly for making the dream of a Federal Medical Centre to be cited in his Constituency a reality.
Buba said, "The people of his area would now heave a sigh of relief on the new development of a Federal Medical Centre, which bring to an end the era of traveling to sick persons from Hong ,Gombi and all the surrounding communities to Yola was now over.
He also praised the commitment and prayers of all stakeholders who took it upon themselves to support all the processes the Bill went through before becoming law, saying that with close cooperation, nothing can be too hard for a determined group to realize.
The statement reads in part, "On behalf of all the people of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency and Adamawa State in general, I extend our sincere appreciations to Mr President, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and our very dear leader and brother, Barr. Boss Mustapha and the entire members of theNational Assembly for making this dream a reality."
It can be recalled that the quest for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Hong, has been a long one. With the Bill for an Act for the establishment of the health facility in the area, Rt.Hon. Buba had argued that considering the facilities on ground at the Hong General Hospital, which had been earmarked for the upgrade, Government would only need to do little to make good the desire of the people.
