2022: Together, Lets Make Adamawa a True Land of Beauty and Sunshine- Aliyu Ismaila Calls

The Chairman of Gov. Fintiri transition committee and former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defense, Ismaila Aliyu, has called on Nigerians and citizens of Adamawa State, to take the new year as moment to reposition themselves to serve their country and state and to a time to join hnds with government to build a great Adamawa State.

Ismaila made this known in a personal press statement tagged "To New Beginnings" made available to The ChroniclesNaija, over the weekend.

Ismaila Aliyu said, "To New Beginnings
"2021 has come and gone and it has been a year of mixed reactions and diverse expectations.

"Many of us planned and proposed hundreds of things of what we wanted for the year and how we wanted to do things but looking back on how the year ended, we know that sometimes we can only do our best but only God can tell what the future holds.

"So, as the new year just began, let us see it as a new opportunity to be thankful with friends and family for the good things we enjoyed, as well as, for the challenges we encountered, for they are the things that make us strong and let us also see the new year as an opportunity for the renewal of our commitment to God and to our fellow humans."

Enjoining citizens, he said, "So, as we mark the new year 2021,  I will like to call on all citizens of our great nation Nigeria and our dear state, Adamawa, to look back at the year that just gone and be thankful to God that we have not degenerated into chaos and confusion. Let us be thankful that in the midst of our scarce resources, inflation, and economic instability, we have not despaired and that in the midst of general insecurity, we were not consumed by it and that especially here in Adamawa State, we have been able to go about our daily lives without enduring the nightmare of insurgency, bandits and the degrading effects of the notorious "Shila Boys" activities."

The technocrat adds that, "We must commend and pray to God for our dear state and Governor, H.E. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who together with the members of his executive council, have devoted time and resources, to make Adamawa a safe place for all and for his commitment as a true and fearless leader, to make Adamawa a true land of beauty and sunshine.

"As we enter a new chapter in our lives with the new year ahead, let us be committed to making Adamawa and Nigeria a great place. All hands must be on deck to support the rebuilding of our faith in God, one another, and the people God has placed over us as leaders to rebuild our lost advantages as a people and bring back our dignity.

"Without mincing words, we know that Nigeria, and Adamawa state, have lost ground over the years as a result of poor quality of leadership and failed governance, hence, a lot of our citizens have lost faith and devotion to building our country and our immediate communities."

Expressing optimism, he said, "In this new year, let it be a time for renewal and commitment to making our lives, Adamawa and Nigeria better again.

"Our journey for a great society, state, and country has just begun today, and it must involve each and every one of us. As we mark the first day of the new year, 2022, let us not forget the saying that the journey of million miles, begins with a step and in that spirit, let us today take that step towards building our personal lives and our nation because we have always been a resilient people who never give up in the face of daunting and relentless challenges.

"Let face this new year with this unconquerable Nigerian attitude of "Never Giving up". We can overcome all our security challenges, we can defeat all our economic woes, we can win the battle for our families and our state if we press on towards the better part of who we are as people. We are the beautiful people of the great land of beauty and sunshine. I wish you a happy new year and the best of the 365 days ahead."
