Emmanu Foundation Targets 30,000 Residents of Adamawa Food and Non Food Items

A non-governmental organisation, Emmanu Global Foundation inspired the current economic harsdship and reality faced by millions of Nigerians as a result of the severe hunger and frustrations experienced in the country and the need to bring succour to humanity, has flagged-off the distributions of food and non food items across the 21 local Government areas of Adamawa state.

The flag-off ceremony which was held in Kala'a, Hong local government area of Adamawa state was designed to reach about 30,000 vulnerable residents of Adamawa state with specific emphasis on people living with disabilities, the extremely poor, among other vulnerable members of the Adamawa society.

Speaking at the event, the president of the foundation, Mr. Emmanuel Musa represented by Dr.Akaka Wesley said that the distributions of the food and non food items is in line with the foundation's objective of bringing succour to humanity stressing that the intervention is an annual event but the 2023 distributions represents a unique intervention due to the current hardships faced by citizens across the country.

Dr. Akaka re-iterated the commitments of the foundation to always remain in touch the poor masses and the vulnerable in the society and to always continue to keep on doing the good work of identifying with the less previleged. He also expressed concern over the alarming rate of poverty and the suffering in the land which he described as "tragic and unacceptable" to the foundation. Akaka said, driven by this reason the foundation saw the urgent need for all hands to be on deck to put smiles on the faces of the most vulnerable in the society.

According to him, this untold hardships and the pathetic situation Nigerians find themselves today is coming at a time when the residents of the North East geo- political zone of the country are still recovering from the debilitating effects of insurgency which has ravaged homes and families and brought untold hardship on millions of residents of the region who are still grappling with serious humanitarian crisis which continues to grow by the day. .

Speaking at the occasion, the National Coordinator of the foundation, Chakukuyada Godwin, said that,the intervation will not only be limited to Adamawa state but will also be replicated in other states of the federation noting that the non food items such as roofing sheets, cements and other building materials are meant for communities in southern senetorlal district of the state to enable families rebuild their homes after the zone was devastated by heavy flooding in 2022.
Speaking at the occasion, the district head of Hong, Babangida Umaru, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers said that they have never produced a proud and patrotic son who has the interest of his people like Dr.Emmanuel Musa, the founder of the foundation and called on other wealthy individuals, politicians and elected representatives in the area to emulate him.

Other speakers at event included the executive chairmen of Gombi and Hong local Governments, chairman Board of trustees of the foundation, Alh.Alheri mathias, community leaders and beneficiaries, commended the foundation for the gesture and urged them not to relent in their efforts.

Some of the items distributed at the event included bags of rice,sphergetti,groundnut oil, detergents, zinc roofing sheets, cement,wrappars, among many other food and non food items worth millions of naira.
