Police Arrest 2 Persons Over Armoured Cable Vandalisation, Theft

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two persons for allegedly vandalizing armoured cables connecting Boronji Water Treatment plant.

The police made this known in a  statement by the Spokesman of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in Yola 

Nguroje said that the police operatives attached to Dougirei Divisional Police Headquarters arrested the suspects while attempting to dismantle the cable.

Those apprehended include 17 years old Emmanuel Joseph and 25 years Yohanna Sulei who reside at Boronji community in Yola North LGA.

SP Nguroje said that the operatives while on confidence building patrol along Boronji Water Treatment plant, responded to distress call from the manager of the water treatment plant, alerting them of the activities of the vandals.

Nguroje said, "The suspects conspired and vandalized armoured cables connecting light to the treatment plant resulting to shorting down of water supply.

"Investigations so far revealed that the suspects are collaborating with some yet to be arrested receivers who equally benefits even more from the services of the water treatment plant", SP Nguroje.

He said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, assured that criminals and their collaborators will never escape punishment, and warned those receiving such items to desist henceforth or prepare for the end result.
