Adamawa: NUC,TUC Mediates in Labour party internal crisis, Reaffirms Nicholas as Party Chairman.
The National Labour Congress and the Trade Union Council holds a mediation meeting in Yola to resolve the internal crisis between the ousted labour Party chairman and incumbent caretaker committee.
The move is an avenue for the team of party executives led by the Algon Chairman Rev. Illiya Mathias who recently passed a vote of no confidence on the State Party Chairman Mr. Nicholas Christopher on multiple grounds to present all arguments for deliberations and possible reconciliation reaffirming the incumbency of Mr. Nicholas Christopher as the State Labour Party Chairman.
This was made known by the representative of the organized Labour Comrade Nasiru Babale In Yola.
Stating that only 5 out of the 18LGA chairmen who teamed up to pass a vote of no confidence on Nicholas are legitimate chairmen , disqualifying their action.
Recall that on the 4th of April 2024, the ALGON chairman Rev Illiya Mathias chaired a delegation of 18LGA of the Labour to pass a vote of no confidence on Nicholas Christopher on the grounds of anti party activities, Financial misappropriation, poor communication & interpersonal skills,
Printing and sales of unauthorized membership forms.
Other allegations include, Unconstitutional decisions, Inability to coordinate the party during the 2023 election. Inaugurating a caretaker committee headed by Hon. Theman Jonah.
In response Nicholas says preparations for their upcoming state congresses and LGA elections is in top gear.
This he says is part of their resolutness to continue stirring the affairs of the party in line with the directives from the National chairman Justice Abure re echoing the vote of no confidence passed on him by the ALGON chairman is invalid as only 5 out of the 18 LGA are legit therefore his leadership is still intact.
It was observed that the newly inaugurated caretaker committee led by Hon. Theman Jonah as chairman, Apwanokona Azmaveth, secretary, Aliyu Mohammed Abubakar as Treasurer, Henry Ibrahim Kwataden as P.RO. others include Gajiya Zainab Isiah Ahmed as woman Leader, Kamalluddeb Jibrillah Aliyu as Youth Leader, Auwal Yahya Chiroma as member. Were absent at the mediation meeting. Also absent are the ALGON chairman and the 18 LGA chairmen.
Reacting to this Nicholas states that a disciplinary action is set to take place for all the absentees within the next seven days.
