Reps. Kwamoti Buries Father 5th of July in Numan
Pa Bernard La’ori, father of the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions, Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus La’ori, will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in his hometown of Imburu, Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to a statement issued by the media office of the lawmaker, the late Pa Bernard La’ori passed away at the age of 86 on Saturday, June 28, 2025, after a brief illness. He died at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (formerly Federal Medical Centre), Yola.
Described as a seasoned educationist, the late patriarch was known for his lifelong dedication to knowledge, community service, and the moral upbringing of his children.
The statement further disclosed that the funeral service will hold at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Numan, after which the interment will take place at his ancestral home in Imburu.
In the wake of the elder statesman’s demise, the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, alongside his Deputy, top cabinet members, and the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, led a delegation on a condolence visit to Hon. Kwamoti La’ori in Numan. Other sympathisers include members of the National and State Assemblies, traditional leaders, political associates, and friends of the family.
Pa Bernard La’ori is survived by his wife and ten children, including his prominent son, Rt. Hon. Kwamoti Bitrus La’ori.
He is remembered not only as a devoted family man but also as a pillar of moral integrity and educational advancement in his community.
