Ardo Unveils All Democratic Alliance, Calls for Political Rebirth Ahead of 2027
Abuja, Nigeria – September 18, 2025 –
A former presidential aspirant and political strategist, Dr. Umar Ardo, has called on patriotic elites, professionals, women, and Nigerian youths to rise above partisan apathy and rally behind a new political platform, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Ardo described Nigeria’s political trajectory since 1999 as “a relentless drift into economic bankruptcy, insecurity, disunity, and social decay” despite the country’s vast human and natural resources.
“The cause is clear – a visionless, venal, corrupt, supine, insensitive, and banal political class has taken siege of our country,” he said.
Ardo explained that the newly registered ADA, which has already received provisional approval from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is not just another political party but a “moral rebirth of the nation.”
He likened the party to “Nigeria’s Ark of Noah” that would carry citizens out of poverty, exploitation, and insecurity into prosperity, unity, and dignity.
Youth and Women at the Centre
Highlighting the party’s manifesto, Ardo stressed that ADA would prioritise Nigeria’s youths and women as the drivers of the country’s rebirth.
“To the youth of Nigeria, who make up the overwhelming majority of our population, the future belongs to you, but it will not be handed to you on a silver platter,” he said.
Ardo accused the existing political class of using young people as “foot soldiers of violence and pawns of exploitation” while denying them jobs and stifling their dreams.
According to him, ADA envisions a Nigeria where the youth will be transformed into innovators, professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders across sectors.
On women’s inclusion, he criticised Nigeria’s male-dominated political culture, pledging that ADA would reserve at least 50 percent of its developmental space in its constitution and manifesto for women and youth combined.
“Women bring integrity, compassion, resilience, and a strong sense of service into governance. No nation can rise while sidelining half of its citizens,” Ardo declared.
Call to Patriots
Ardo urged professionals, intellectuals, journalists, clerics, and entrepreneurs to discard political apathy and join the ADA, warning that silence or indifference in the face of Nigeria’s crises amounted to betrayal.
“As 2027 looms, we are witnessing the same tragic cycle unfolding again under APC and PDP. But this curse must be broken. The recycled politicians of old have forfeited every moral right to lead this country,” he said.
“The hour of decision is now. To stand aside is to betray Nigeria; to join hands is to save her.”
Ardo concluded by inviting Nigerians to “join the ADA banner” in order to birth a political renaissance rooted in justice, sacrifice, unity, and service.
