ADC Expands Grassroots Reach in Adamawa as Transition Committee Tours Song, Girei, Yola North

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has continued to build momentum across Adamawa State, as its Transition Implementation Committee, led by Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, extended its Local Government Area tour to Song, Girei and Yola North, recording massive turnout and renewed grassroots enthusiasm.

The visit, held on Monday, was marked by packed venues during the inauguration of local government transition structures, with party members and supporters turning out in large numbers to demonstrate growing confidence in the ADC’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A major highlight of the tour was the defection of the entire structure of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Song Local Government Area to the ADC, under the leadership of Abubakar Suleiman Nyako. The development further signaled the shifting political alignment at the grassroots and strengthened the ADC’s presence in the area.

Addressing party faithful, Dasin urged ADC members and coalition partners to remain resolute and intensify grassroots mobilization, stressing the need for strategic organization to dislodge what he described as an insensitive and anti-people All Progressives Congress (APC).

He expressed appreciation to party supporters in Song, Girei and Yola North for their overwhelming turnout, describing it as a clear indication of the ADC’s growing acceptance across the state. Dasin charged transition committee members to prioritize awareness campaigns, uphold fairness and transparency, and ensure inclusivity in all party activities.

“The enthusiasm we are witnessing is a strong signal that the people are ready for change,” Dasin said, adding that local government transition committees must work harder to build confidence, mobilize membership and strengthen cohesion at the grassroots. He also reassured youths and women of the ADC’s commitment to providing a safe and inclusive platform for their political participation.

Earlier, Honourable Yahaya Hamanjulde emphasized the importance of collective resolve in mobilizing grassroots support to unseat the ruling APC at all levels. He acknowledged the guidance and support of key national and state stakeholders, noting that their involvement has continued to energize the party’s transition efforts across Adamawa.

Among those acknowledged were the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark; the North East Zonal Chairman, Engr. Babachir David Lawal; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (Waziri Adamawa); Senator Jibrilla Bindow; Senator Abdulazeez Nyako; Ambassador Omar Suleiman; Modibbo H. Tukur; Senator Ishaku Abbo; Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani; Dujjima Adamawa; Mr. Daniel Bwala, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of youths, women and elders from the three local government areas, community representatives pledged their commitment to mobilizing support for the ADC at the grassroots. They, however, appealed to the state transition committee to ensure strict adherence to party guidelines and fairness to all coalition partners within the party.

Observers say the sustained activities of the ADC transition committee have continued to reinforce the party’s expanding grassroots appeal and growing acceptance across Adamawa State, positioning it as a formidable contender ahead of the 2027 elections.
