Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has urged residents to embrace the deeper meaning of Christmas by promoting love, unity and the common values that bind humanity together, regardless of religion or ethnicity.

In his Christmas message to Christians and the people of Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri described the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ as a symbol of hope, salvation and renewal for a world in need of redemption. He noted that society would be more peaceful and prosperous if the virtues reflected by Christ’s birth—especially love, compassion and selflessness—were sincerely practiced.

The governor extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians and all residents of the state, encouraging them to give thanks to God for His grace, provision and protection over individuals, families, communities, the nation and humanity at large.

According to him, the festive season serves as a powerful reminder of shared humanity and the common values that unite people across religious and tribal divides. He acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing serious security and economic challenges, but stressed that the message of Christmas continues to inspire hope and resilience despite prevailing uncertainties.

Governor Fintiri said the timeless teachings of Christ and God’s unconditional love remain a source of strength in difficult times, urging citizens to rise above adversity and commit themselves to building a better society.

He called on residents to use the season to show generosity to the less privileged, foster peaceful coexistence and strengthen bonds within their communities. He emphasized the need to lay a solid foundation for a fair, just, prosperous and cohesive society by embracing unity and leaving behind division and discord.

“Let us share God’s love by giving of ourselves and caring for those in need. Let us love our neighbours as ourselves and move boldly into a better future together,” the governor said.

Governor Fintiri concluded by wishing residents a joyful and peaceful Christmas, urging them to celebrate responsibly and safely. He prayed for continued blessings on families and communities across Adamawa State, while reaffirming his commitment to unity, peace and progress.
