Adamawa 2019: SPD Governorship Candidate Says He Wants A Debate

The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Emmanuel Bello, has boosted that he is ready to challenge all the governorship candidate in the state with his ideas and plans to prove his mettle and competence to lead Adamawa state in 2019.
Bello said, he has a detailed blueprint for a holistic development of Adamawa state into a state that would no longer depend on federal purse to survive but would only release can abridged version for fear of candidates accustomed to theft of ideas.
Emmanuel Bello made the remarks, while launching his ten point campaign agenda for Adamawa state, Tuesday, in Yola, Adamawa state.
While launching his campaign agenda of a community driven government for Adamawa state tagged, "Leave No One Behind," he promised to tackle the perennial habit of over dependence on federal resources, create employment through agricultural development and strengthen security by empowering Communities to defend themselves.
Bello described the negative culture of reliance on the federal government for resources as a product of lack of vision and ideas, laziness of political leaders and a collective failure of the political class.
He lamented what he described as an "endless list of service and governance failure" which has resulted in a situation of hunger, unemployment and deplorable security situation of incessant killings and kidnaps.
"Our people are hungry, government institutions are not functioning, service delivery is poor, economy is out of shape, the security of lives and property is at risk, salary payments are not met, unemployment is increasing on a daily basis, and students scholarships are not paid," he said.
He critisized the government of governor Jibrilla as lacking vision and capacity to address the challenges of the people of Adamawa state.
While outlining his agenda, Emmanuel Bello said health care, agriculture, economic development through the dredging of water ways in the state, creating a functional agricultural program, development of a rebost educational program that would ensure quality and affordable education for the people of Adamawa state.
Bello added that his government would pursue policies that would foster unity in diversity, ensure public trust and accountability and pay special attention to the vulnerable groups in the society by launching programs that provides social safety nets for youth, women, children, physically challenged and the elderly.
Emmanuel Bello said he would attain economic growth by mitigating the weakness of poor implementation of policies, misplaced political interest, poor economic management, weak monitoring and evaluation and feedback for sustainable economic growth of Adamawa state.
